Refund Policy

1. Overview
This Refund Policy applies to all payments made through the E-Votify platform ("Platform") for votes, donations, and other contributions to Events hosted by Organisers. All transactions are processed securely through Paystack, our Payment Processor. By making a payment on the Platform, you acknowledge and agree to the terms of this Refund Policy.
2. Nature of Purchases
Votes purchased on the Platform are classified as digital goods and services that are delivered instantly upon successful payment confirmation. Once a vote has been recorded and counted toward a contestant's total, the transaction is considered complete and irrevocable. This immediate delivery means that standard cooling-off or cancellation rights may not apply to vote purchases.
3. General Refund Policy
All vote purchases are final and non-refundable. Because votes are delivered and counted in real time, we cannot reverse or withdraw a vote once it has been cast. This policy ensures the integrity and fairness of voting results for all participants and Organisers.
Refunds will only be considered in the following exceptional circumstances:
- Duplicate charges: If you were accidentally charged multiple times for the same transaction due to a technical error.
- Failed delivery: If your payment was successfully debited but the vote was not recorded on the Platform due to a system malfunction.
- Event cancellation: If an Event is cancelled by the Organiser before its conclusion and no alternative resolution is offered.
- Payment not confirmed: If Paystack does not confirm the transaction as successful (e.g., abandoned, failed, or reversed by the bank), the transaction will be accounted as failed and any deducted funds will be automatically reversed by your payment provider within 5–10 business days.
4. How to Request a Refund
If you believe you are entitled to a refund under the exceptional circumstances listed above, please contact us within seven (7) days of the transaction. Your request must include:
- Your full name and email address associated with the transaction.
- The transaction reference number (provided by Paystack).
- The date and amount of the transaction.
- A clear explanation of the reason for your refund request.
- Any supporting evidence, such as screenshots or bank statements.
Submit your request to: kebbyomo@gmail.com. We aim to acknowledge all refund requests within two (2) business days and provide a resolution within ten (10) business days.
5. Refund Processing
Approved refunds will be processed through the original payment method used for the transaction, via Paystack's refund infrastructure. Please allow 5–15 business days for the refunded amount to appear in your account, depending on your bank or card issuer's policies. E-Votify does not charge additional fees for processing legitimate refunds, but your payment provider may apply its own processing charges.
6. Disputes and Chargebacks
We encourage you to contact us directly before initiating a chargeback or payment dispute with your bank or card issuer. Chargebacks can result in the suspension of your account and may affect your ability to participate in future Events. If a chargeback is filed, we reserve the right to provide your transaction records and communication history to the payment provider to resolve the dispute.
7. Organiser-Specific Policies
Individual Organisers may establish supplementary refund or cancellation policies for their specific Events, provided these do not conflict with this Platform-wide Refund Policy. Where an Organiser's policy is more generous, it will apply. Where it is less generous, this Policy shall prevail. Please review the Event's specific terms before making a payment.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on the Platform with an updated "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Platform after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
